Sacramento, California skate-punk outfit Lamonta is set to release their debut full-length album, Here’s The Thing…, arriving August 28, 2026. Packed with driving melodies, infectious hooks, and the unmistakable energy of classic skatepunk, the album captures a band focused on writing the kind of songs they would want to hear themselves.
Formed by longtime friends Kyle (vocals/guitar), Jason (drums), Jimmy (bass/vocals), and Zak (guitar/vocals), Lamonta was built around a simple mission: create energetic music, spend time together, and keep the spirit of punk alive. The band’s chemistry comes from years of friendship and shared experience, with members also contributing to projects including SecondShot, Gibberish, deanzie, and Fighting Words.
Here’s The Thing… showcases Lamonta’s ability to blend the fast-paced chaos of ’90s and early 2000s skatepunk with a cleaner, modern production approach. The result is a record that honors the genre’s history while avoiding nostalgia alone — delivering a sound that feels immediate, polished, and built for today’s listeners.
The album features previously released singles “Your Favorite Song,” “Addicted,” and Their latest, “Moving On,” each offering a preview of the band’s signature combination of melodic guitar work, driving rhythms, and instantly memorable choruses.
Recorded and produced by Kyle Olson and Jason Chase at Lamonta Lane Studios, the album captures the group’s high-energy songwriting while adding a refined sonic finish. Jason Chase also handled mastering for both vinyl and digital formats, while all artwork assets were created by Lamonta and Josh Hensel.
The physical release will arrive through a worldwide collaboration between Lamonta, Double Felix Records, Punk Rock Radar, and Disconnect Disconnect. Fans will have the opportunity to collect the album on three limited vinyl variants:
