BOUNCING SOULS ‘BORN TO BE’ GUIDED BY ‘THE LIGHT’

For nearly four decades, the New Jersey outfit known as The Bouncing Souls has stood as a steadfast pillar of punk rock, their anthems echoing from dimly lit basements, clubs, and concert halls to the grand stages of the modern touring circuit. In an era where trends rise and fall with the turning of the seasons, the Souls have instead chosen endurance—building a legacy rooted in unity, resilience, and the unshakable bond between band and audience.

Now, with the release of their latest single, “The Light,” the veteran quartet signals the dawn of a new chapter. The track arrives as the lead dispatch from their forthcoming long-player, Born To Be, due June 26, 2026, and serves as both a rallying cry and a moment of reflection. The Light is a song that glows with purpose—tempered by experience yet burning with the same spirit that first propelled the band out of Basking Ridge in 1989.

Comprised of Greg Attonito, Pete Steinkopf, Bryan Kienlen, and George Rebelo, The Bouncing Souls have long been torchbearers of anthemic, working-class punk. Their newest record, produced by the esteemed Will Yip, finds the band not resting on past triumphs, but instead pressing forward with renewed clarity. The songs contained within Born To Be speak plainly yet powerfully to the modern condition—grappling with perseverance, connection, and the quiet strength required to carry on.

The Light,” released in Aoril, stands as the emotional centerpiece of this effort. Preceded by earlier offerings “United” and “Power,” the single captures the band at their most direct and heartfelt. It is a composition that balances grit with grace, illuminating the path forward while acknowledging the miles already traveled.

Across its ten tracks, Born To Be unfolds as a chronicle of lived experience. From the urgent pulse of “Bordertown” to the defiant resolve of the title track, the album charts a course through personal reckoning and communal strength. It is not merely a record of survival, but of growth—a testament to a band that has weathered time’s passage without losing sight of its purpose.

In a musical landscape often defined by fleeting moments, The Bouncing Souls remain a constant. With Born To Be and the guiding flame of “The Light,” they reaffirm what their audience has always known: that punk rock, at its core, is not just sound—it is community, it is spirit, and above all, it is enduring.
