OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM ‘UNION MADE’

Old Crow Medicine Show has released their new album ‘Union Made‘ on June 5, 2026, through Hartland Records via Firebird Music. The 12-track album is the two-time Grammy-winning string band’s latest full-length studio record and arrives as the United States approaches its 250th birthday, reflecting on the people, places, and stories that shape the country’s identity. The record marks another collaborative chapter for the long-running Americana group, led by founding member Ketch Secor and bassist Morgan Jahnig, who also serves as producer.

Nearing 30 years as a band, Old Crow Medicine Show’s deepest roots remain planted in old-time music, a style that predates both country and bluegrass and continues through contemporary practitioners. The current lineup features Ketch Secor, Morgan Jahnig, Mike Harris, PJ George, Cory Younts, and Chance McCoy. The group celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023 with the Grammy-nominated album Jubilee, and Union Made follows the release of their first holiday collection, OCMS XMAS, issued in December 2025.

Union Made continues the band’s focus on American storytelling through folk, bluegrass, and roots instrumentation while embracing a broad network of collaborators. Produced by Jahnig and recorded at the band’s East Nashville studio, the album features nearly a dozen guest contributors, reflecting what may be the group’s most community-oriented studio effort to date.

Recorded with a rotating cast of guest artists, Union Made includes appearances by Jesse Welles, Turnpike Troubadours’ Evan Felker, Maggie Rose, harmonica player Lee Oskar, Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, John Carter Cash, Ana Cristina Cash, and bluegrass figures Del McCoury and Ronnie McCoury, among others. Molly Tuttle also contributes to the project, extending the album’s cross-generational approach to contemporary Americana.

The album’s lead single, “My Side of the Mountain,” was co-written by Secor, Molly Tuttle, and country artist Luke Combs. The recording features performances by Tuttle alongside Del and Ronnie McCoury, underscoring the collaborative spirit that runs throughout the release. Union Made also includes a cover of Merle Haggard’s 1981 song “Rainbow Stew,” adding another layer to the band’s ongoing dialogue with American musical traditions.

Across Union Made, Old Crow Medicine Show continue their long-running practice of reframing American history and lived experience through song. Themes of regional identity, working-class life, cultural memory, and national reflection run throughout the record, delivered through the group’s signature blend of fiddle, banjo, acoustic guitar, and ensemble harmonies. Secor has described the album as a response to the current national moment, framing the songs as an examination of the joys, possibilities, and shortcomings of contemporary America through the lens of folk tradition.

The band supported the release with a special album launch performance on June 7 at Nashville’s American Legion. Prior to the album’s arrival, Old Crow Medicine Show had been touring as part of their Back to the Roots Tour, performing Union Made in full and culminating in a main stage appearance at MerleFest. Additional summer dates extend across North America and into Europe, including a number of festival appearances. Get full dates and tickets here.

For a band that has sustained itself across three decades by remaining anchored in string band and old-time traditions while engaging with the broader currents of American music, Union Made represents one of Old Crow Medicine Show’s most openly collaborative recorded statements. Its guest list, themes, and title all point toward an organizing idea rooted in collective effort and shared identity, reinforcing the group’s enduring role within contemporary roots and Americana music.
